I’m a Robotics Software Engineer. I gained industrial and research on-field experience along with studying bachelor in Computer Engineering.

My Projects

Having an exposure working on a projects such as Self Driving Car , Vision based Navigation Robot and Cyber Security based Face Recognition System, I grew passionate and inclined to pursue my career in Machine Learning Software Applications and Products as well as Autonomous car driving system , Robotics and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping Techniques.

Project Title: Donkey Car

1/16 SCALE SELF DRiViNG CAR [PYTHON, TENSORFLOW, OPENCV]

Converted an RC Car to autonomously navigate a closed environment using behavioral cloning algorithms.

Currently capable of navigating a closed course with >80% accuracy after 30 minutes of training

Project Title: InfectoBar

AUTONOMOUS BOOM BARRiER [PYTHON, OPENCV, TENSORFLOW, RASPBERRY Pi]

An autonomous boom‑barrier to detect and allow entry to people wearing face masks and socially distanced.

Developed and demonstrated in a team of 2 in under 24 hours.

Victor Tango AutoDrive

PERCEPTION MEMBER

Oct. 2020 ‑ Present

  • Develop and demonstrate autonomous driving capabilities on a Chevy Bolt EV 2017 to navigate an urban driving course in an automated driving mode for the SAE AutoDrive Challenge.
  • Implement and test end‑to‑end perception pipelines for Camera, Radar and LIDAR to achieve >95% SLAM accuracy using tools like OpenCV, Numpy and ROS.
  • Collect test data from the ego vehicle’s local server to optimize and fine tune perception and sensing algorithms.

Virginia Tech Drone Park

INTERN

Nov. 2020 ‑ Present

  • Build, test and maintain a fleet of 15 unmanned aerial systems for Virginia Tech students and UAV Research Operations
  • Manage drone park lab and oversee events for safe operation of UAVs in compliance with all FAA and local air traffic regulations
  • Working towards a FAA Part 107 Certified Drone Pilot License (expected March 2021).

Robotics Algorithms and Autonomous Systems Lab

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Aug. 2018 ‑ Sept. 2019

  • Worked with a PhD student to develop an autonomous quad‑rotor drone capable of actively sensing the environment to detect the presence of plumes in small water bodies using a monocular camera and computer vision algorithms.
  • Developed ROS Nodes for faster communication between an Odroid‑XU4 SBC and Pixhawk 2.1 for smoother flights.
  • Facilitated numerous research projects as test pilot for environmental monitoring, infrastructure inspection, and precision agriculture.

AUVSI at Virginia Tech

WORKSHOPS AND OUTREACH CHAiR

Aug. 2018 ‑ Present

  • Design and conduct RC fixed‑wing and multi‑rotor build‑and‑fly workshops for more than 50 Virginia Tech students in the Fall semester.
  • Educate students about the physics behind flight and designing, building and programming flight computers on RC fixed‑wing airplanes and Multi‑rotor drones in a simulated as well as real world environment for autonomously controlling an aircraft.
  • Organized speaker series with more than 10 industry leaders in the field of autonomous aerial systems and robotics to share their research and experience with the more than 200 students.
